Post types and categories #
The Display tab lists the post types (Posts, Pages, BetterDocs docs…) and the categories of each type.
- Tick a post type to turn the player on for it.
- Tick categories to allow only posts in those categories. If no category is ticked, the button shows on every post of that type.
- Pages (which have no categories) are chosen one by one in the page tree.
Player position #
- Before the content: the default, just above the first paragraph.
- By selector: place it somewhere in your theme (for example under the title) with a CSS selector.
- Only where the shortcode is: insert
exactly where you want it, in a post or in a template.
With a block theme #
With a block (Full Site Editing) theme, choose Only where the shortcode is and add a Shortcode block containing to the single post template (Appearance › Editor › Templates › Single Posts). The Fox40 theme already has a “Listen (RATA)” block in that place.
If the button does not show on pages where the document sits in its own wrapper (for example BetterDocs), add that content wrapper’s selector (for example .wp-block-post-content) to the content area selector field in the Advanced tab.
On phones #
Turn off Show the player on phones if you want the player on desktop only.
